Teacher Training

The Ministry of Education invites applications from suitably qualified Malawian T2 teachers serving in public primary schools for studies in Certificate in Inclusive Education (Blinc) and Diploma in Special Needs Education for the 2026/2027 academic year either at Montfort SNE College or Machinga Teacher Training College as follows:

Minimum Requirements

Certificate in Inclusive Education offered only at Montfort SNE College

This is a one and half year (18 months) Blended Inclusive Education teacher training programme. Successful completion of the course will lead to a Certificate in Inclusive Education

Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • T2 teaching Certificate
  • Minimum qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with at least four (4) credits which should include English.
  • Be not more than 45 years of age at the time of application.
  • Candidates MUST have a minimum of 4 years teaching experience from the date of employment.

Diploma in Special Needs Education

This is a three-year face-to-face training programme leading, on successful completion, to the award of a Diploma in Special Needs Education

Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • T2 teaching Certificate
  • Minimum qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with at least Six (6) credits which should include English.
  • Be not more than 45 years of age at the time of application.
  • Candidates MUST have a minimum of 4 years teaching experience from the date of employment.

Fees Structure

  • Diploma -Three Hundred Thousand Kwacha (K300,000.00) tuition fee per academic year or One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Kwacha (K150, 000.00) per semester, subject to revision from time to time.
  • Certificate-One Hundred and Fifty-Seven Thousand Kwacha (K157,000.00) for the whole course.
  • Five Thousand Kwacha (K5,000.00) Student Affiliation Fee per semester.
  • Every successful candidate shall be responsible for the payment of the Student ID Processing Fee.
If you are meeting the stated entry requirements, ensure you have a soft copy of your certificate before you start your application.

Application method

  • Applications are strictly online through this portal.
  • Once you have submitted your application, the system will generate an invoice number for you to use when paying the application fee.
  • Using the system generated invoice number, pay a non-refundable application fee of Fifteen Thousand Malawi Kwacha (MK15,000.00) through TNM Mpamba or Centenary Bank or FDH Bank under the NCHE Menu.
Please note that:
  • Individuals with Special Education Needs that meet the minimum entry requirements stated above are encouraged to apply.
  • Any applications submitted without the necessary details will lead to automatic disqualification.

Closing Date

  • The deadline for receiving completed application forms is Tuesday, 30th June 2026.

Q: Who is eligible to apply?
A: The eligible applicants are as follows.

  1. Candidates with a minimum of 4 credits including English for Certificate in Inclusive Education, and Candidates with 6 (six) credits including English for Diploma in Special Needs Education and for Degree in Education, candidates must have the subjcet combination for the specific area
  2. Candidates who failed to satisfy the minimum admission requirement but successfully improved their grades after re-sitting in a space of not more than three years may use their supplementary statements indicating years they obtained the grades.
  3. Candidates whose age is not more than 45 years on the day of application


Q:How can I pay for my application?
A: Applications can be paid for using the token (invoice number) that is sent to the applicant through SMS. This token is generated once an application has been submitted. The token is unique for every application and should be presented to bank tellers or should be entered on the payment platform if using mobile or internet banking or TNM Mpamba Accepted payment channels:
